Norwegian Cruise Line vs. Celebrity Cruise Line? Last year I was on a cruise with Celebrity Cruise Lines and absolutely loved it. I would like to go on another next year and initially thought of Celebrity first, but I am thinking of thinking of possibly going with Norwegian. Has anyone been on both Norwegian and Celebrity? If so, how do they rate compared to each other? FYI: I would like to try to avoid kid-related cruises if possible. I loved Celebrity for that reason. It's not too terribly important but I didn't know if Norwegian was the same.
Celebrity Cruise line, The Summit,had serious bearing broblems on the May 7th sailing to Alsska. What happed? I was on a Celeberty inside cruise to Alaska, May 7th sailing The Ship was named "Summit." the trip to Hubbard glacier was cut short. This ship has serious engine problems, it rumbled and vibrated like a tin lizzy. The Captain completed the last three thousand miles on one engine. He missed promised ports-of-call. My once in a lifetime vaction was compromized I feel cheated. Does anyone care?

Cruise Line Celebrity Summit room refrigerator? Hello cruisers. Just booked a Deluxe Ocean View Cabin on the Summit. On the diagrams I can not see any refrigerator in the little Room. (?!) Also just noted they have no self-serve-laundry. How does that work? We are gonna be on it 14 days and my wife is worried about her underthings--she's a sweaty little thing. Thanks.

Drinking age - Celebrity cruise to alaska? Hey guys, thanks up front. I'm 20 years old and was wondering about the policy on Celebrity Cruise line for drinking. I am going to Alaska with my mom and dad, and was wondering if I'll be able to drink. Their policy seems pretty explicit that you cannot drink unless you are 21, and parents cannot buy either. The catch is, they have a pointer that says if you embark from a country in which the drinking age is less (AKA Vancouver in Canada) your parents can sign a waiver (which my parents wouldn't have a problem doing). I am just wondering is that still applicable on Alaskan cruises because most of the ports of call are in the US? Let me know, I don't want to go up there with my dad and look stupid if I ask for a waiver and get denied. It's more so, my parents sign the waiver to allow me to drink on board and I can not have to bitch with people.

Which cruise line is the best for college (Norwegian, Celebrity, Carnival, Royal Caribbean)? I am in college, and am looking for a cruise that won't have a lot of kids or old people (maybe other college aged people would be good?). I've read up that Royal Caribbean has 55+, Carnival has kids, but I'm not sure if this is true. What is your take on Norwegian, Celebrity, Carnival or Royal Caribbean?

Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas? or another cruise like celebrity or carnival? my family of 4 (i'm 15 and my brother is 17) is planning a July 2008 caribbean cruise. The liberty of the seas looked really nice, and they had some convenient dates, but is there something better we might be missing? if you suggest something other than royal caribbean, which cruise line and specific ship? thanks guys! Which cruise line do you prefer? Out of Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess, and Celebrity? The only ones I have heard of out of them four is actually Royal Caribbean and Carnival. I have been on Carnival and liked it but I didn't know about any of the other cruise lines. I have been on one cruise and that was with Carnival didn't know if the others were better then Carnival. Thanks. If we do the cruise next year it will just be my husband and I, we will be leaving the kids with the grandma.
Mediterranean Cruise - your experience? I'm planning a Med cruise in mid November for 2 wks. We'll start in Venice, Italy and end up in Barcelona, Spain. The stops along the way are Dubrovnik, Croatia, Athens, Greece, Kusadasi, Turkey, Naples and Rome and Florence, Italy, and Villefranche, France on Celebrity Cruise Lines (ship Millenium). I checked the weather average temps that time of year and they appear to be upper 50°s to lower 60°s F. What's been your experience with weather that time of year, did you enjoy the ports of call, the ship, etc. I've only cruised with Carnival (2 Caribbean cruises) thus far, so this will be a different experience. I hoped to get some sun time, but I fear it won't be the time of year for that. Any info or experiences you can relate would be appreciated.
Best, simple cruise line? We've been on 2 Princess Cruises and enjoyed the ability to eat at the 24 hour buffets the entire trip (never set foot into a dining room, as the same food was in the Horizon Court Buffet). We really liked the informality of the cruises, and the simplicity of the automatic tipping (both drinks and room/dining room tips...we canceled the dining room tips and raised the room amount by some since we were never in the dining room). There was far more entertainment than we could enjoy, so altho it was a good time (especially the movies under the stars), we have no frame of reference to compare the other cruise lines. I saw in the news that Celebrity delayed a cruise 6 hours for a false drug alarm and their idea of compensating the passengers was to give them a lousy $15 credit. So they are off our list. We are retired and in our 50s and DO NOT enjoy dressing up. So what cruiselines do you recommend and why? Thanks! I never had to wait for the buffet on Princess...and they seemed to have different things every 3 hours. The first day, we ate at 5:30 and then, after really having our fill, we discovered that it had only been "snack" time and the real dinner items would be out at 6:00! The complete freedom was great. So NCL sounds a bit more difficult? I just want to broaden our experience...the only real complaint we had with Princess was poor ship maintenance on the Grand Princess. The first cruise was on the Golden Princess, its sister, and it was a lot better... One of the reasons we didn't tip the dining/food staff was also that they CONSTANTLY ran out of napkins and substituted paper....At least half of the hand sanitizers were always empty....and we NEVER received an offer to bring us a beverage on our second cruise (Grand Princess). All those things were impeccable on the Golden Princess, so we knew it was a ship problem as opposed to a systemwide problem. We tipped fully on the Golden, but NOT on the Grand... Folks on the Golden were also happy and cheerful; while the Grand was filled with sullen staff. Who keeps rating the answers negatively? I don't see any argument that NCL would be a good one to try. I also don't see anything about tipping. Maybe the www.cruisecritic.com will give me more info. Thanks to all...
Which Cruise Line? I've cruised with Celebrity 7 times and LOVED them. I want a cruise that goes round trip from New York and this year, it doesn't seem like they have much departing from the east coast- they're focusing more on Europe. I definetly do not want Carnival and am considering Princess, Royal Carribean and Holland America. Anyone have any experience with any of these cruise lines? Thanks!
Which Cruise Line Has The Best Drinks ?? I have been on four different cruise lines (RC, NCL, Princess, & Celebrity) and noticed that the drinks are not all the same on them. By not the same I mean how strong or how much alcohol they contain. For me, a good drink will give you a buzz. I noticed on Princess that they had an automated alcohol dispenser for drinks that measured a precise shot for each drink. So their drinks tended to be weak vs those done where the bartender could add a little. And on Royal Caribbean I noticed that if you order one of the frozen drinks, especially one of the daily specials that is frozen, like a daiquiri, they bring the drink with the alcohol on the side and pour it in as they serve it. If you have been on 2, 3 or 4 cruise lines, or more, which cruise line had/has the best drinks??? And Why????

Best Cruise Line to Alaska? I am looking into Celebrity, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and NCL. I ruled out the others because they didn't go roundtrip from Vancouver (like Princess, I know it is supposed to be good, but their itineraries don't work for us). This is important to me. I am 24 and going with my husband. We aren't super into the party scene, but we also don't want to stick out horribly on a cruise full of older people. We are going in May. What are the "personalities" of the various Mexican cruise lines? Holland America I've heard is for older (avg age 62) clients, great service. Princess for younger, but "romantic" What about Royal Carribbean or Celebrity or others? I will be getting married in about a year or so and want to go on a cruise. Where do I start? My fiance and I have never been on a cruise and want to get married on one. I don't know where to begin. I don't know what cruise line to choose, how to compare prices, whats included. I checked Carnival and Celebrity and they asked what ship I wanted to go on. I have no clue! Looking for best Alaskan cruise for family with 3 kids, 13, 13 and 10. Which line would you recommend? We want a summer cruise through gulf, either direction. Want to see a glacier or two up close, and some Alaskan towns. Have a 10 year old social butterfly girl, needs people to interact with. Also 13 year old twin boys into video games and swimming pools. They don't need social and probably would avoid it as they are each other's best friends. Maybe some cute girls. Wife and I want good food, casual atmosphere, not party animals. Nice stateroom. Probably oceanview. Priorities are 1. itinerary (Anchorage - Seattle/Vancouver either way) 2. appropriate for pre and early teens 3. glacier views, wildlife and scenery, towns to see 4. comfort, food, exercise, pools etc Appear to have choice of Carnival Spirit Celebrity Millennium HAL Veendam, Volendam, Zaandam and Princess Island, Coral, Diamond and Sapphire RCCL no open cabins for us in this time
Kid free cruise in April? I am planning to go on a 3 night cruise in April if possible and was wondering which line you think would be best for not having to see many children. I have been on disney and have almost never seen kids cause of the kid activity centers does Carnival or Celebrity offer similar things? I can't afford Disney right now.
